You know, sometimes you just feel the energy behind an idea. And The Sister Accord has that kind of energy. Sonia has scheduled 10 Sister Accord Tea Parties for 2014. No, she is not British nor is she affiliated with a particular political party. What she does is bring together a group of 50 young ladies from across each city to discuss the importance of Sisterhood and positive relationships. She starts in Birmingham, AL in a couple weeks and plans to hold Tea Parties in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Louisville, Nashville, New York City, Seattle, and Washington DC.
The theme is “Your Time to Feel Special” and the focus is to teach skills to live a successful life . The young ladies will enjoy High Tea and engage in meaningful dialogue on Etiquette in the areas of grooming, communications, social media, dress, and many more exciting aspects of focusing on the “whole-self” as Sonia sets these ladies on a path of transformation they will never forget. She wants the ladies to truly understand their value and self-worth. She has a number of gifts for them including a Lisa Robin Sister Accord Bracelet.

Barely a month ago my friend Sonia Jackson Miles called to ask me to lunch. She was ready to move to the next phase in her development of The Sister Accord and needed my help. Over lunch she laid out her vision for the Sister Accord and shared that from the beginning she had envisioned a jewelry collection to commemorate the Sister Accord Movement.
Wow, I tell you this thing has legs. I was in awe, and a little envious, of all she has accomplished in a very short time. But I should start at the beginning, as she did with the book, and let you know what this Sister thing is all about.
The Sister Accord: 51 Ways to Love Your Sister, the debut book from Sonia Jackson Myles, focused on educating girls and women on the importance of supportive, loving and positive reciprocal relationships, is transforming lives one girl and one woman at a time.
The mission in Sonia’s words:
“We have a real problem in our society where women bullying other women and girls hurting other girls is portrayed as acceptable and as the norm,” said Jackson Myles. “We hear the stories, we see it on TV and the on the internet. This is unacceptable. My intent is to show girls and women that you can live a more productive and fulfilling life when your relationships are healthy. We know that the stresses of life can be more effectively managed when you have a trusted friend to encourage and help you get through the difficult periods. My goal is to have 1 BILLION girls and women live the principles of The Sister Accord. Imagine a world where this is our new reality!”
The LOVE Bracelet, the first in a series of Sister Accord commemorative bracelets, is available on lisarobinjewelry.com now, with others being introduced in early 2014. The book, “The Sister Accord: 51 Ways to Love Your Sister” can be found there as well or on thesisteraccord.com.

Appropriate for vacations, holiday barbeques, shopping with friends and everything in between, maxi dresses and skirts are easy to to love and even easier to wear!
If you’re anything like me, your summer calendar consists of a steady stream of festivals and outdoor events that call for a fun look that’s ready to soak up the sun while also looking polished. Maxi dresses and skirts provide both. These fashion staples have become the go-to silhouettes of the season, but there is still a great deal of individuality to be put into the outfits that they form!
Lisa Robin Jewelry is up to the challenge, with unique necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and more! As seen above, a drop earring with colored gemstones does just the trick if you’re going without a necklace. The Small Portale Medallion with Gemstone Drop Earrings add a wonderful dose of color, as do the Mini Circle with Gemstone Drop Earrings. Lisa Robin’s new Chain Link Earrings are dramatic yet refined, and would be a great accent to your favorite summer clothing.
Another awesome choice are the Tekke Enhancers, which can be added to earrings for a special spin on basic hoops, or to a chain or rope as a pendant. If you’re going for a tribal vibe, which corresponds well with this season’s geometric prints, the Tekke Collection has everything you need for that boho chic look!
Of course, you can never go wrong with a healthy stack of rings to compliment your ensemble, Lisa Robin’s Stack Rings have a variety of patterns etched into gleaming sterling silver, and come both plain and with different gemstones according to your specification. Ever gotten frustrated while trying to untangle necklaces? How about trying to located those lovely, but ever-so-tricky post earrings that, without fail, find their way to the depths of your jewelry box, or worse, end up lost in its dark abyss?
Storing jewelry can be the bane of any fashionista’s existence. Maybe traditional jewelry boxes seem too stuffy for your taste. Or perhaps you struggle with the thought of containing your jewelry in hidden compartments, either because you own a quite a number of baubles, or because you dislike concealing the beauty you’ve acquired over the years.
Well, fear no longer, because craft books and blogs are full of imaginative ways you can tackle your jewelry storage qualms. This post on Sincerely Yours blog has some awesome ideas that will get your ideas rolling about how best to store your pieces.
Infuse your home with a cool vibe by using picture frames to display your collection, as see here,
Tired of the frame idea? Break out the teacups in your china cabinet to create this divine storage space. You can even employ this notion using a drawer, closing the drawer when children or guests are over.
This gorgeous cake stand serves up sweetness of the fashion variety,
While we’re in the process of using materials that are readily available, hang on to some of the glass bottles from your posh beverages and put them to the test as bracelet holders,
My favorite idea from Sincerely Yours’ blog is bringing nature indoors. Check out this minimalistic storage idea,
If that wasn’t enough inspiration, take a look at this glamorous storage method,
Of course, any of these crafty contraptions would look beautiful adorned with Lisa Robin Jewelry! Cultivating your own jewelry display will give you a reason to love your pieces even more, enjoying them when they’re not part of your outfit. So go on, your artful and unique domestic decoration is right around the corner.

We live in a world where nearly every major magazine and newspaper features a horoscope section. Getting another perspective of our traits and the way they play into our lives is always interesting. Who isn’t amused by the sometimes uncanny accuracy or far-reaching proposals of a juicy horoscope page?
Many times, though, you don’t need a horoscope to spell out the qualities that make you special. We tell our story to the world each day simply with the way we dress and carry ourselves. Clothing and decorating the body is one of the most basic human activities – just as looking to the stars for greater meaning in relation to our innermost selves is brought on by a primal desire to define who we are.
Standing out comes not only from embracing yourself internally, but from being comfortable enough to express your own unique style. Fashion is a virtual playground in which we can create looks that cater to our feelings, and jewelry is a fabulous way to individualize any outfit!
Lisa Robin Jewelry carries a spectacular range of collections that are perfect for giving voice to any personality. Are you more reserved, preferring classic pieces to accompany your clothing? Perhaps you like to play with color and keep things fun. Not to be forgotten, artistic-minded fashionistas as well as more sophisticated dressers will all find the jewelry they’re craving at Lisa Robin.
This fun quiz can give you a better idea of what jewelry may work for your personality. Also take a look at this overview of Lisa Robin Jewelry’s Collections to find some new favorites today!

Walk into any self-respecting retail establishment today and just try not to find a piece of clothing with cut-out detailing. Cut-outs have become fashion’s latest obsession. A healthy portion of this season’s sundresses and tank tops feature this adorably playful detail. It can even be seen on jackets and sweatshirts, certifying it as a true favorite among fashionistas everywhere.
Like the skull and cross craze that blasted onto the scene a year or so ago, cut-outs are now the name of the game. Spanning the fashion spectrum from high end labels like Balenciaga and Michael Kors, to more accessible brands like White House Black Market and Nordstrom’s Mimi Chica line, cut-outs will keep you cool in more ways than one as the weather heats up!
It’s only natural that with these daring infusions, our minds wander to similarly bold accessories. And while matching the intensity of a cut-out garment with edgy add-ons produces a fresh, trendy vibe, sometimes the occasion calls for something a little more refined. That’s where Lisa Robin Jewelry comes in!
Boasting an assortment of alternately striking and feminine collections, Lisa Robin Jewelry can make your fashion vision come true, no matter what you’re dreaming up. Those looking for strong pieces to match defined clothing cut-outs should get their hands on Lisa Robin’s Tekke Collection. If you’re craving a more sophisticated statement, you’ll want to see the Cordoba or Signature collections.
Queen of the Cut-outs by lisarobinjewelry featuring gemstone pendants
This beautiful look from December’s Holiday Glam Fashion Show was a prime example of successfully mixing cut-outs with some of Lisa Robin’s finest pieces. Hosted by Cincy Chic, this festive gathering brought together the region’s best local businesses as they celebrated the season in style. Offering their unique wears to savvy fashion fans, the night was capped off with a fashion show featuring Lisa Robin Jewelry and clothing from area boutiques.
The genius behind this outfit is the juxtaposition of classically simple against flirty and fun. The cap-sleeve shift dress gets a punch of sass when you stop to appreciate the colorful threads woven into its wool construction. Paired with of-the-moment shoulder cut-outs, this dress gets the fashion seal of approval while remaining appropriate for a ladies luncheon or professional function.
Accentuating the straightforward feminine qualities of the dress is Lisa Robin’s Cordoba Pendant with Gemstone Pave’. The citrine and smoky topaz stones play well off of the warm hues of the dress’s colored threads. Worn with the Large Hoop Earrings, the pendant remains the focal point. An added feature of these earrings is that they can be worn with any of Lisa Robin’s earring enhancers or smaller pendants to create a look that is truly your own.
Rounding out this ensemble is the Small Medallion Bracelet, a gentle touch that keeps the look polished yet interesting. This is just the a glimpse of what Lisa Robin offers. With an ever-expanding array of pieces, you can style your whole wardrobe, cut-outs and all!

There is something about detailed geometric shapes translates so beautifully into the latest trends, and Lisa Robin Jewelry has the perfect line to give voice to this global aesthetic: the Tekke Collection.
Lisa Robin’s Tekke Collection is full of global-tinged styles inspired by Turkish weavings, which the Tekke tribe used for making carpets. In a range of pieces including earrings, necklaces and pendants, the Tekke Collection centers on an attractive pattern of abstracted lines and arrows. A variety of gemstones are showcased in some of these pieces as well, further enhancing their worldly allure.
Tribal Tinges by lisarobinjewelry featuring gemstone necklaces
As seen in this look from a fashion show, Lisa Robin’s Turkmen Necklace with Gemstones in amethyst, citrine, iolite takes center stage when worn with a refined black and white dress. As unique earring add-ons, a pair of Tekke Enhancers are a cool twist to the Medium Tekke Hoop Earrings. The interchangeable elements of Lisa Robin Jewelry are just another great reason to wear these truly original designs.
Completing the ensemble is the Five Gemstone Ring in citrine and amethyst. These lovely stones shine even brighter against the dress’s black and white palette. In a final perfect touch, the zig-zag colorblocking on the dress’s skirt echoes the shapes in Lisa Robin’s Tekke jewelry. We can’t think of a more fitting match between wardrobe and accessories!

Lisa Robin Jewelry was named one of three finalists in the 2013 Future of Design Business Incubator Contest. The national contest is an initiative that promotes and nurtures emerging design talent in the fine jewelry industry.
The judging panel of fine jewelry industry experts and leaders included contest organizers Andrea Hill and Cincy Edelstein and this year’s guest judges Hedda Schupak, Editor of the Centurion Newsletter, Ann Arnold of Lieberfarb and Bruce Pucciarello of Novell Studio.
Unlike most competitions for designers, this one puts the business acumen of the designers on an equal footing with design talent. Applicants have to supply information about their business plans as well as submit examples of their design work.
“The contest has the competitive entrepreneurial feel of TV’s “Shark Tank” coupled with the industry- nurturing of the fashion world’s CFDA/Vogue Fund,” says Edelstein. “We’ve mixed together our own recipe by bringing together colleagues from every facet of our business. Our judges bring expertise in entrepreneurship, manufacturing, marketing, salesmanship and technology. Our Dream Team offers hard- earned wisdom learned on the road to success. And our sponsors provide critically-important industry exposure and credibility. Altogether, this puts the equivalent of a lifetime of knowledge into the hands of a relative newcomer.”
Lisa Robin Jewelry was selected as a finalist after a rigorous entry and judging process. Entrants were required to complete a 70-question entry form that examines every aspect of their business. Six semi-finalists then were required to do a 30-minute Skype interview with the four judges in late February. From there, three finalists came to New York for a live “Shark Tank” -like presentation before the panel of judges and an audience of industry VIPs, press, and fellow designers. The event was held Tuesday during the MJSA Expo show at the Hilton New York.
Each designer was tasked with making a 10-minute final pitch to the judging panel that explained their work, inspiration, and plans for the future. Panelists and audience members, including competition “dream team” members Robert Lee Morris, Penny Preville and Lisa Jenks probed further into each designer’s vision with tough questions about manufacturing, retailers, marketing, and price points.
Co-creator Andrea Hill noted that all three finalists will receive business help in the coming months. “We have a deep commitment to the three finalists. We feel strongly that everyone who entered this contest should benefit somehow,” Hill said. “All designers receive a 5-7 page analysis and recommendations report regarding their application. We are trying to help a wide swatch of designers grow stronger businesses. ”
In addition to other prizes, the six semi-finalists win a mentoring meeting with one of the Future of Design’s Dream Team, six designers with a high profile in the industry. They are Gurhan, Erica Courtney, Todd Reed, Penny Preville, Lisa Jenks and Robert Lee Morris. The panel of judges has also offered mentoring to all three finanlists.
The Future of Design contest has, in its 2012 inaugural year boosted the careers of six American designers including the 2012 winner, Bree Richey.
